Efficient vehicle ownership identification scheme based on triple-trapdoor chameleon hash function
نویسندگان
چکیده
In recent years, vehicle theft has become an increasing problem worldwide. A staggering number of cars are stolen every year, and up to half of these are never recovered. Thus, vehicle ownership identification is an important security issue. In this paper, based on the triple-trapdoor chameleon hash function and the concept of the hash-sign-switch paradigm, we propose the vehicle ownership identification scheme (VOIS). The proposed scheme has low computational cost for the government transaction center (GTC) as well as for the vehicle owner (VO), and it allows a third-party, e.g. a police officer, off-line verifying the vehicle ownership is valid or not without connecting to on-line database. & 2010 Elsevier Ltd. Identity-based chameleon hashing and signatures without key exposure
The notion of chameleon hash function without key exposure plays an important role in designing secure chameleon signatures. However, all of the existing keyexposure free chameleon hash schemes are presented in the setting of certificatebased systems. In 2004, Ateniese and de Medeiros questioned whether there is an efficient construction for identity-based chameleon hashing without key exposure...
متن کاملA Secure Chameleon Hash Function without Key Exposure from Pairings
Chameleon signatures are based on well established hash-and-sign paradigm, where a chameleon hash function is used to compute the cryptographic message digest, and becomes an important building block. The chameleon hash function is a trapdoor one-way hash function with some special properties, and plays an important role in constructing chameleon signature. In the paper, we propose a new chamel...
متن کاملID-Based Chameleon Hashes from Bilinear Pairings
Chameleon hash function is a trapdoor one-way hash function. The IDbased chameleon hash function was first introduced by Ateniese and Medeiros [1]. As discussed by [1], the general advantages of ID-based cryptography over conventional cryptography with respect to key distribution are even more pronounced in a chameleon hashing scheme, because the owner of a public key does not necessarily need ...
متن کاملThe Changing Nature of Chameleon Signature Schemes
Chameleon Signatures are based on the traditional hash-and-sign paradigm. A secure scheme provides the properties of non-transferability and non-repudiation. That is, the contents of the message may not be disclosed without the signer’s consent. The scheme also creates an undeniable commitment on the part of the signer to the message. The chameleon hash function is a trapdoor one-way function, ...
متن کاملGeneral Construction of Chameleon All-But-One Trapdoor Functions
Lossy trapdoor functions enable black-box construction of public key encryption (PKE) schemes secure against chosen-ciphertext attack [18]. Recently, a more efficient black-box construction of public key encryption was given in [13] with the help of chameleon all-but-one trapdoor functions (ABO-TDFs). In this paper, we propose a black-box construction for transforming any ABO-TDFs into chameleo...
